Super slow training can increase the size of the muscle, especially when its done when you're lowering the weight, not just pressing the weight up, but when you're lowering the weight a lot of people use that as a very effective way to gain muscle. But this is mostly used by bodybuilders, someone that's trying to build muscle. So with the super slow training, the intention is to move that weight slowly, and, therefore, is only going to get you stronger when you're moving in slow situations. So it's not going to help you when you have to move quickly. It's not going to help you sprint across the street to get away from a bus. Not going to help you push someone out of your way really quickly. So, super slow training [is] effective as far as building muscle goes, but not so effective as far as making you more functional.
