How do I choose weight training exercises?

There are several ways you can choose exercises. For one thing, you want to make sure that you're not selecting exercises too difficult for you. Once you've got to that point, you want to make sure that you balance your program out. And what I mean by that is if you have a chest exercise in your workout, you want to make sure that you have an exercise for the rear shoulders. If you have a shoulder exercise, you want to make sure that you have an exercise for your lats. So you want to complement your exercises. If you can do the opposite movement, it is ideal. Most common mistake is when someone has a lot of chest exercises in their workout and just not a lot for the rear shoulders or the back. This can contribute to a poor posture. The worst thing that we would want is for the weight training program to leave someone with worse posture than when they started. Probably the next most common [mistake] that I see is the abdominal training. So you have people to do endless sets for their abs, but don't really do anything at all for their back. Those are two of the most common areas where you just see unbalances of develop. As fitness enthusiast and trainers, we want to try to make our bodies better and you just have to be careful to develop a balanced program so that you're not making yourself more imbalanced.
